Autodesk Geomatics Tools
Autodesk products are used extensively by MGI's drafting specialists to develop the survey and mapping products delivered to MGI clients. Our Autodesk tools, which include AutoCAD Map and CAD Overlay, provide our staff with the stable and flexible technology platform they need for generating cost-effective survey products.
Our AutoCAD Map 3D software is an extended version of AutoCAD software that provides MGI with an additional set of tools not available to standard AutoCAD users. Beyond the standard drafting and calculation tools of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map provides tools for working with existing spatial data in various coordinate systems and formats, managing and storing mapping information, and linking maps to databases. It also supports easy data exchanges with other CAD and GIS system formats.
MicroSurvey Geomatics Tools
Our survey specialists also use survey calculation tools from MicroSurvey Software Inc. MicroSurvey products include both standalone and third-party add-on software designed specifically for land surveying applications.
MGI's survey office staff use MicroSurvey InCAD, a third party add-on for AutoCAD Map, and our survey field staff use MicroSurvey Express and MicroSurvey CAD Pro to handle complex calculations in the field. Our MicroSurvey technologies include coordinate geometry (COGO) tools that improve efficiency on all survey jobs, whether they are complicated road alignments, large subdivision projects, specific construction projects, or time-sensitive volume or cut-and-fill calculations.
