Maltais Geomatics Inc. (MGI) was originally incorporated in Alberta in 1979 as Maltais Associates Surveyors Ltd. and continued under Alberta's Business Corporation Act of 1982.  In 2002, the company's legal name was changed to Maltais Geomatics Inc. to reflect our extensive range of geomatics services.

As members of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta and the Canadian Institute of Geomatics, we use the most advanced geomatics technologies to ensure that our land surveyors, professional engineers, and technology specialists deliver the geomatics services and products that our clients need to operate effectively.  Our commissioned Land Surveyors are also members of the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors and the Alberta Land Surveyors’ Association, and our geomatics technologists belong to professional geomatics organizations.

The term geomatics refers to the measurement, representation, analysis, management, retrieval, and display of spatial information describing both the Earth’s physical features and the infrastructure and facilities built upon and within the Earth. Geomatics includes land surveying, geodesy, remote sensing, photogrammetry, GPS, digital mapping, and many related products and services.

Sophisticated spatial information is now essential for most private and public sector operations because accurate geo-spatial data is used to develop and manage the land base and its natural resources in the most efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible manner possible.

With particular strengths in land surveying, survey engineering, remote sensing, aerial and satellite imagery, GPS technologies, geomatics engineering, and the production of highly accurate mapping products, MGI is committed to providing the expert professional service that our clients have come to expect from us.
