Geomatics Engineers – Edmonton and Calgary
Maltais Geomatics Inc. (MGI) is a mid-sized Alberta company with more than 70 employees. We have two fulltime openings for Geomatics Engineering graduates, one based in Edmonton and one based in Calgary. Applicants should have strong computer skills, an understanding of cadastral survey systems and computations, and some land surveying experience, including static and RTK GNSS experience.
MGI is particularly interested in applicants who will article with us to earn their Alberta Land Surveyor (ALS) professional designations. We assist articling students with this process so that they can quickly qualify for leadership and management roles within the company.

Qualifications:
- Geomatics Engineering degree or pending graduation from a Geomatics Engineering program at a Canadian university in the spring of 2012
- strong computer skills
- experience with static and RTK GNSS
- thorough understanding of cadastral survey systems and computations
- some field experience in the oil and gas, electric power, municipal, and/or construction sectors
Duties:
- report to Branch Manager
- undertake field and office work for cadastral, oil and gas, electric power distribution and transmission, construction, and municipal surveys
- complete survey calculations and data processing
- use Leica System 1200 or Viva GNSS for field work and data processing
- assist Branch Manager with operations management
