Geomatics is the science of measuring, collecting, processing, displaying and managing land information. Accurate and comprehensive geo-spatial information is essential for developing and managing our land base and natural resources in an efficient, effective, and environmentally responsible manner.
We deliver survey engineering, land surveying, planning, routing, and mapping services, including oilfield, utility, pipeline, and construction surveys, land development surveys, cadastral (legal) surveys, structural and deformation monitoring, volume and quantity measurements, precise machinery alignment measurements, computer mapping, and many other geomatics services.
We use a full range of geo-spatial technologies to support the requirements of governments, municipalities, First Nations, aboriginal communities, environmental agencies, land-use and land planning clients, development and construction companies, and many resource-based operations.
We also sell Alberta Map Products and develop customized map as outlined below.
MGI's High Level Branch Office is authorized to sell Government of Alberta maps. Alberta Sustainable Resource Development encourages the public to order its map products from local map dealers, and our High Level office is ideally situated to supply hardcopy maps to companies operating in northern Alberta. Frequently ordered Alberta map products include:
- 1:50,000 Provincial Access (useful for oilfield operations because of detail and cutlines)
- 1:250,000 Provincial Access (also useful for oilfield activity)
- 1:1,000,000 Provincial Base
- 1:500,000 NW 1/4 Map

- 1:1,000,000 Municipal District Maps

MGI use the best technologies to provide surveying and mapping services to industry and government clients. Our digital topographic mapping services include data capture from all scales of aerial photography, data conversion and structuring, calculations from digitally-scanned surfaces, orthophotography production, DEM and contour generation, and cartographic services.
